Calvin, the female version

When Elena and her friends were painting pictures, I asked them each what they were painting, and they all shared with me.

Jerlyn said, "I'm painting a rainbow."

Eileen painted a tree with flowers.

Elena very cheerily said, "I painted a blood factory where vampires store all of their blood."

When I told my sister-in-law Tina this story, she hit the nail on the head saying Elena reminded her of Calvin and Hobbes.  She sure makes for a lot of laughs!

Ring Bearer, Take 2

Sam was able to be a ring bearer again for his godfather's wedding a few weeks ago.  Once again, the extroverted, performance-loving Sam was paired with a shy, I'm-not-so-sure-I-want-to-walk-down-that-aisle-without-my-mommy flower girl.

Taking his job quite seriously, Sam spent about 20 minutes during the rehearsal practicing their walk with the flower girl. I guess all the practice paid off because they both did a wonderful job.

We all had a great day at the wedding and following celebration.  Elena got tired around 11:00, pushed a few chairs together to make a bed and fell asleep.  But Sam danced his heart out until the very last song. At one point, he asked Elena to dance with him, but she's more of a solo dancer.  Then he asked the flower girl, but she was too shy.  So he went and asked Laura, the bride. Fortunately, she said yes.

Charlie spent the evening melting several ladies' hearts, as usual.  It was almost to the point where I wasn't quite sure I'd be able to wrestle him back.
