When the kids had a babysitter over last week, they somehow got onto the topic of marriage. So their babysitter asked the kids where they would want to go on their honeymoon.
Elena picked Germany.
Sam said, "I think I'll go to Brad's Market." (That's the local grocery store for those of you not familiar with Minneota). Spoken like a true Myhre man: Let's make sure we have the kitchen stocked with food now that I've got a wife :)
In reality, though, it's not a bad idea. If he can find a wife who would love him enough that she would be happy to go to a grocery store for their honeymoon, then I'd say they'd be pretty likely to have a happy marriage.
In Sam's defense, I figured out why he chose that location. I'm pretty sure Sam doesn't actually know what a honeymoon is. And Brad's Market is where we buy our honey. It makes perfect sense to a 4 year old.

Babies create a lot of laundry. Much more than one might expect. You wouldn't think someone so small could pretty much double (on some days triple) the amount of laundry that needs to be done in a household, but trust me, they can. Especially if you've got a puker as all three of mine have been.
Yesterday for example, Charlie managed to spit up all over 3 of his own outfits, my shirt, my pants, my second pair of pants, several burp rags and receiving blankets. And for the grand finale: as I walked through our closet while carrying him, he spit up all over a laundry basket full of clean (and folded) clothes that I hadn't put away yet.
He also hit the living room carpet, the couch, the kitchen floor and the kids' bedroom floor, but those don't really add to the laundry. Just the overall cleanup.
Other than that, he's a healthy, happy and plump little baby!

Need a good laugh?
Charlotte was in the kitchen with Sam, and out of the blue he busted out this move. He's trying to impersonate a guy from the movie Despicable Me:

Excuse me?
We got together with Seth's side of the family for brunch on Sunday. The kids were all over the house, the men were talking in one room and the women were in the next room talking, coincidentally, about the funny things our kids say.
We women suddenly overheard Seth say, "Sam, what happened??"
And then we heard Sam reply, "Ummmm......I accidentally peed on Ian."
There was a split second pause and then everyone in the house burst out laughing. We weren't quite able to figure out from the boys what exactly happened. Initially I figured they were wrestling or something and Sam had an accident, but then none of Sam's clothes were wet. Ian, however, came downstairs with his shirt soaked.
As far as we can tell, Sam was going to the bathroom with Ian close by, and he somehow missed the toilet and hit Ian right in the chest. According to Ian, "it was flying all over the place" so Seth went upstairs to clean up the mess. Fortunately for Seth (and unfortunately for Ian), the bathroom was dry so I guess he managed to contain the stream solely on Ian. Luckily, he missed Ian's pants so he was able to go home with pants and a coat.
Now we've got another great pee story in the family to add to the one about Seth's brother who peed in the fridge when he was sleepwalking. I won't mention any names....

Habla espaƱol?
Seth's parents went on vacation to Mexico a week ago. After they left, we included them in our evening prayers with the kids, praying that they would have a safe and successful trip.
Elena followed that up with the following prayer: "And we pray for Grandma and Grandpa, that they won't speak Spanish when they come back from Mexico."
That would have been pretty cool, but Elena's prayer was answered, and they still spoke English when they came home.

Gotta love those school photos!
The school now does pictures in both the Fall and Spring. I was hoping for better luck with the Spring photos. Although Elena's Fall photos turned out great, she got to them before I did with a scissors and cut them as you would expect a 5 year old to do.
Elena picked out a beautiful outfit to wear for her school pictures. The pose we chose would show her from head to toe so we picked out a fancy purple dress with sparkly tights and black dress shoes.
Since she wears her boots to school, I put the black shoes in her bag so she could put them on at school. Unfortunately, she forgot they were there and she put on her Dora the Explorer gym shoes. Needless to say, they look a little funny with her dress clothes. I'd put the picture up, but I don't want to violate copy right laws.
I just thought I'd set the record straight for any who see the picture - I did my best, but there's only so much a mom can do.
I guess it could be worse: she could have worn her huge, bright pink snow boots.

We had Charlie's baptism last weekend. He was the first of our children to be baptized by Seth's brother, Jason, who was ordained a deacon last Spring. I told the local family about it, but forgot to tell anyone else until the day before. My apologies to the out-of-towners who should have been notified. If it makes you feel any better, my parents forgot to tell my dad's 8 siblings (and his mom, I believe) that I had even been born until I was 2 weeks old. It must be a 3rd child thing...

Togetherness
This is how many of Charlie's feedings look (for the comfort of the viewer, this picture was taken during the burping stage):
I'm hoping at least one of them will outgrow this before we have any more kids. I can handle 3 on my lap; 4 would be a stretch.

This is only 6 months overdue

Anyway, Sam did a great job as ring bearer and he will get to do it again in May for his godfather's wedding. He even stood up front with the groomsmen for over half the wedding - until I heard him turn to the best man and say, "I don't really want to stand up here this long." So I motioned for him to come and sit by us. Lindsey (the bride) sent us a few great pictures so here they are at last.
Sam and the flower girl:
There must have been a little feedback on the microphone:
And here's one of my favorites. Although it looks like he has to go to the bathroom, he was really just flinging the pillow between his legs. I didn't realize he had been doing this during the wedding until we got the pictures. I'm sure it added a nice touch to the ceremony:

Violet Lice
Sammy: Mommy, this is Violet Lice.
Me: Violet Lice?
Sammy: Yeah.
Seth: What is he talking about?
Me: I think he means Fur Elise (it was playing on the CD player)
