Mischief Mania

The kiddos are sick with RSV. Sammy just has a cough, which really only seems to bother him when he has to spit up. He doesn't seem to mind at all -this morning he was smiling and cooing away for Seth.

Elena, though, has had a rough couple of days with an RSV/ear infection/teething trifecta. But I can tell she's feeling better because every time I try to get something done (like feeding Sam), she gets into mischief. Today has been especially eventful - so far she has:

1. dumped flour all over herself, the counter, the floor and the chair (which she recently learned helps her to reach much higher!)

2. tried to lift Sam out of his chair and came dangerously close to succeeding (this was while I was cleaning up the flour)

3. written all over herself with a marker (her arms and torso are very yellow!)

4. woken Sammy from his nap by pinching his poor little ear (3 times)

5. and taken off all of her clothes - diaper included (4 times) - although I think she just did it again. Let me go check....yup. make that 5 times. gotta go!

....Still, at the end of the day when they cuddle in my lap to read stories and Elena gives me a kiss goodnight, it melts my heart.

I love being a mom.

I fixed the link...

We have a DVR, which means when we watch TV we rarely have to sit through commercials anymore because we can just pause what we're watching, come back 10 minutes later and skip all the commercials.

All of them except this one, that is.

Whenever Seth sees it, he hits rewind so he can watch it again.

Global Warming

On days like today, when I feel like skipping through the snow in shorts after a week of temperatures well below zero, I have to resist the secret urge within myself to hope for just a little bit of global warming. It's hard not to feel like this. At the very least, I hope you get a laugh out of it.

All is well here. Elena's teething and Sam likes to be held 95% of the time so my computer time (not to mention sleep time) is extrememly limited. I'll get more pictures as soon as I can.

1 Month Old!

Little Sammy made it through his first month of life outside the womb. He is growing quickly (9 pounds already!) Here are his most recent pictures.

In case you were wondering...

Seth has been at his new job selling insurance for the Knights of Columbus for 3 months now and it is going even better than we had hoped. It was a bit of a risk jumping into a whole new career, especially considering we know a few people who have tried the insurance thing and weren't able to make it. But sometimes you've just gotta have faith...and we're glad we did.
Seth absolutely loves the work, and we have enjoyed having him home more often. Even though he still works about the same amount of hours, his schedule is so much more flexible. He gets to squeeze in some extra playtime with Elena during the day if he wants a break (or if I need a few minutes). And I've been able to do a little work here and there for him. The main thing I've been adjusting to is preparing the main meal for lunch instead of supper and having him gone in the evenings.

One of the best perks of the whole job: I get to see Seth in a suit 4 days a week ;)

The Hands

This was the best shot we could get of her hands. We had to wait until she was asleep. They are healing well and don't seem to be bothering her at all anymore.
