Our trip with the Knights this year brought us to Arizona, where we were able to knock seeing the Grand Canyon off our bucket list! Words really can't describe it. It's so massive, it's honestly hard to wrap your head around what you're looking at while you're there. The only drawback was that I have developed an increasingly healthy respect for heights as I grow older, so I struggled with just appreciating the beauty due to the fear that someone was going to plummet to their death right before my eyes. It didn't help that the tour guide was telling us stories of people who accidentally took one step too far back while taking selfies. A few times people right next to me stumbled a bit on the uneven rocks and my heart lurched every time. But I'm happy to report there were no accidents, the weather was perfect and we had a great time.
In other news, Elena was confirmed this month! She chose St. Benedict, the patron saint of Europe, for her saint. It's truly been a joy to watch her faith blossom as she grows older. We're fortunate to have lots of great opportunities for the youth in our Diocese!
