Dancing in Walmart

Walmart was playing some off-brand jazzy elevator music today.

Apparently, the boys noticed. I did not even know this had happened until after we left and Elena showed me this video she took. 

And here's a few recent quotes from our household:

Elena: (seeing Olivia dragging a stool across the kitchen floor) Don't scratch the floor! Does Dad not yell at you for scratching the floor like he did to us?

Olivia: No....he gave up.

Seth: (after finishing supper) Well, I'm fat and happy!

Charlie: You're right.

Olivia and Elena were walking towards a convenience store to get some snacks, passing by a Splash Party full of bubbles and water at Cottonwood's Coming Home Days. Here was their conversation.

Olivia: Do you want to run through the bubbles?

Elena: No, do you?

Olivia: No, then I wouldn't be allowed into the store.

Elena: Then why did you ask me if I wanted to go in the bubbles?

Olivia: So then you wouldn't be allowed in the store, and I could go in and buy whatever I want!

Growing up!

Olivia is 7! We celebrated with a joint party with her cousin Briar as well as a friend party in the birthday room at a local pizza place. Their most noteable gifts were matching cowgirl hats from my mom, which both girls wear frequently!

Unlike Elena she has been chomping at the bit to get her ears pierced so we got that done not long after her birthday. She did great during the piercing and didn't make a peep (as opposed to Elena who hopped off the chair and ran away before they could even mark her earlobes). 

Here are a few photos (in reverse order). The first is with Elena's friend Kylie after we went to see her perform in Anastasia. It was a fun night for us. It was not such a fun night for the deer that jumped out in front of us on the ride home, destroying our headlight, hood and bumper. Fortunately the car still drives fine! We'll just avoid driving at night until we get it fixed or replaced.
